Submissions Closed

We are now closed to submissions for this round of Plan B stories. I still am reviewing a few stories received in the last few weeks, but I expect to be done with those next week.

I’ve been so amazed at the quality of the submissions we’ve received, I have turned down several excellent stories that just weren’t a good fit. I hope that Plan B takes off and I’ll be able to open to submissions again soon.… Read the rest

Let your writer friends know, and don’t forget to visit the fundraising campaign and check out all the great pre-orders and perks!… Read the rest

And I still have submissions in the queue to be read, so this is only the beginning!… Read the rest

However, I’d love to see more stories featuring protagonists who aren’t straight white guys. I’d also like to see stories set in locations other than American cities.

This doesn’t mean I won’t print stories with a John Smith detective set in LA. It means I don’t see a lot of the other kinds of stories and I’d love for that to change. There are mysteries everywhere, crime touches all kinds of people. I’d like to see some genre stories reflecting that reality.… Read the rest
